He received his M. A. in the History of Ideas from Stockholm University and is a Senior Fellow at the<em>\u00a0Cato Institute<\/em> in Washington, D.C.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norberg has written books on a broad range of topics, including global economics and popular science. He has achieved a worldwide readership with books such as <em>Progress<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Open<\/em>, translated into more than 30 languages. His 2023 book <em>The Capitalist Manifesto<\/em> was a Book of the Year in <em>The Financial Times<\/em>, and <span lang=\"EN-US\">received the Hayek Book Prize from the Manhattan Institute. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">His most recent book is <i>Peak Human: What We Can Learn from the Rise and Fall of Golden Ages<\/i>, a Book of the Year in <em>The Economist<\/em>, and described by the <i>Financial Times<\/i> as \u201centertaining and informative, with impeccable timing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Johan Norberg has also hosted several documentaries for American public television, including <em>Sweden: Lessons for America?, India Awakes,<\/em> <span lang=\"EN-GB\"><em>Free or Equal?, Corporate Welfare: Where&#8217;s the Outrage?, P<\/em><i>ower to the People<\/i> and <i>The Real Adam Smith<\/i>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For his work, Norberg has received several awards, including the Distinguished Sir Antony Fisher Memorial Award from the Atlas Foundation, the Walter Judd Freedom Award,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">the Julian Simon Memorial Award, <\/span>and the gold medal from the German Hayek Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Johan Norberg is an author, lecturer and documentary filmmaker born in Sweden.
